Golden Elixir Acupuncture was first opened in 2020 by Dr. Gregory Willis in Pleasant Hill.  It was short lived due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Though, it really started much earlier.  
    When I, Gregory Willis DAOM, first opened, I had already convinced myself that the seed of the business, the essence had been created and could be planted.  That seed took a long time to make!  It was really manifested through 2,000 years of Chinese Medicine, and perhaps things even older.   In my life time the seed began when I was a early teen.  I played football, lifted weights and hung out with friends... But sometimes I would sit and meditate, for up to an hour. I learned from a decent book.  I began tai chi, qi gong, yoga classes at 18 and have kept going since.   
   I was a career student, spent 7 years in Junior College with a balanced life studying biochemistry and performing arts.   I went to Chico State as a Biochemistry major, wanting to be a pharmacist.   However, I just could not bring myself to study all day and sit in class all day.  I had to take dance and martial arts classes to keep my sanity. I had to have balance in my life.  I decided to put my brain on the shelf and focus on performing arts, acting, singing and dancing.  However, after 10 years of College I was told by Chico State that I could no longer get funding to go to State University.   I applied to acupuncture School in San Francisco.   I really did not know what acupuncture was or anyone who had it.  It just really bothered me and fascinated me that it was effective for anything.   I dropped everything to go out on a limb, and it was terrifying!  Left all my friends, all my family, and everything I knew to go somewhere where I had no idea how to function.  This was a real new beginning.
